All Madison School District schools will be closed Monday due to extreme cold temperatures expected early next week.
"All school buildings will be closed for the entire day and evening. MSCR, athletics and other evening activities will also be canceled for Monday," district spokeswoman Rachel Strauch-Nelson said in a news release.
Monday's school board meeting will be rescheduled for Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for Monday and Tuesday. Wind chills are expected to be around -40 Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Strauch-Nelson also asked district families to check back to see if school is in session on Tuesday.
